Liking the Ones You Love: Kids 5/10/2020

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Verve Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Group, feel free to use them on your own.
This week we had an online service in the Liking the Ones You Love series.
  1. What is the one thing you are secretly pleased that you don't have to do now that you are social distancing?
  2. Growing up, would you say your parents raised you to like you or did they raise you so you like them? How so?
  3. Genesis 1:7 says, "So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." How does being created in God's image change your view of others?
  4. Proverbs 29:17 says, "Discipline your children; you'll be glad you did- they'll turn out delightful to live with." How do you think discipline helps make children delightful to live with?
  5. "Love your children by disciplining them" is what Proverbs 24:13 says. Do you see love and discipline as opposites? Why or why not?
  6. "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love" is what Romans 8:38 states. Do you believe there really is nothing that can separate you from God's love? When have you been loved like this by someone here on Earth?
  7. Weekly Check In Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
