Hot Mess: Loving Messy People

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Verve Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Group, feel free to use them on your own.
This week we continued the series called Hot Mess and talked about Loving Messy PeopleIf you missed it, you can listen to it here.
  1. What is the most amazing fact you know?
  2. Do you view yourself as a messy person? Why or why not?
  3. Romans 2:1 in the New Testament of the Bible says, "You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things." Why is it so much easier to judge others instead of ourselves?
  4. Share with us how Jesus met you in the middle of your mess, if you've allowed him to. What makes you hesitant to ask Jesus to help you out of your mess if He hasn't yet?
  5. Why do you think Jesus repeatedly can be found in scripture loving messy people?
  6. How could it be intimidating to you if God asks you to help someone else out of their mess if that means you have to get in their mess too?
  7. What's one way you could love messy people better this week?
  8. Weekly Check In Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
