Fight Club: The Fight for Your Mind

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Verve Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Group, feel free to use them on your own.
This week we continued the series called Fight Club and talked about The Fight for Your MindIf you missed it, you can listen to it here.
  1. Take a minute to brag about yourself. What is one accomplishment people might not know about that makes you proud?
  2. Are you living the life you want to live? If so, how did you get to that point? If not, what parts do you want to be different and why?
  3. Proverbs 23:7 says, "For as he thinks within himself, so he is." How is this true for you? What thoughts do you have about yourself that you believe to be true?
  4. Do you believe you choose what thoughts you think? Why or why not?
  5. Read Philippians 4:8 in the New Testament of the Bible. How would this change your daily life if you filtered every thought you had through this verse?
  6. Do you memorize scripture? If so, what are some verses that help you fight for your mind? If not, do you think this would help you stop believing lies? Why or why not?
  7. Which one do you need more of in your daily life, prayer or truth? Why?
  8. Is spending time reading God's Word and spending time with Him in prayer something you strive to do every morning currently? If so, how does it help you start your day on the right foot? If not, what do you need to do to make this a daily practice?
  9. Weekly Check In Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
