Ezekiel 48

Today's reading in our daily plan is Ezekiel 48. Take a moment to pray, asking God to speak to you from this passage. Then read, using the following notes and questions to help you get everything out of the passage.

SAY WHAT? (What is the passage saying?)
  • In this final chapter of Ezekiel, yet another thrilling description of land assignments is detailed with extremely specific measurements.
  • The larger theme of this chapter is that God is creating a way for his people to dwell together again. The Israelites had been scattered to foreign lands. Here, God gives instructions for the layout of the land on which they will all be together once again. It is the blueprint for a reunification that the Israelites thought would never come.
SO WHAT? (What are the underlying principles?)
  • God created us to dwell in community with other people. The more we surround ourselves with people who are pursuing God and the life He wants for them, the healthier environment we have in which to grow spiritually.
NOW WHAT? (How will you personally apply this passage?)
  • Have you surrounded yourself with other people who are seeking to grow closer to God together?
  • One great way to do this is by joining a Verve serving team. When you volunteer with other people at Verve, you get to know people who are on their own journey with God. It's a great way to find community, use your strengths to make a difference, and grow spiritually. If you're not on a team, try one today by visiting
Here's a helpful video from a great resource called BibleProject that reviews and summarizes Ezekiel chapters 34 through 48:
