Ezekiel 38

Today's reading in our daily plan is Ezekiel 38. Take a moment to pray, asking God to speak to you from this passage. Then read, using the following notes and questions to help you get everything out of the passage.

SAY WHAT? (What is the passage saying?)
  • In this chapter, Ezekiel talks to Gog (the leader of the land of Magog) and his people and tells them that God knows they will attack the people of Israel from the north in the future.
  • However, he also tells them that in the end, God would be the victor and many nations would know and understand his greatness.

SO WHAT? (What are the underlying principles?)
  • Even bad things can show God’s goodness. That doesn’t mean that bad things don’t suck, they 100% absolutely do. But this chapter is another example of God promises of a greater security.
  • God wants us to know him. His love is so great and so grand that God desires everyone to have it. He wants you to know that his love for you is infinite.

NOW WHAT? (How will you personally apply this passage?)
  • What is causing you distress today? Do you have financial worries or are you in a difficult relationship? God wants you to be open with him. Tell him about the anger, frustration, or guilt that you feel.
  • There is always, always hope in God. He does not leave you alone during your bad times. Even if you feel like you have no one you can talk to, God will listen. He will never send you to voicemail.
