Verve Haps

This past weekend at Verve was hoppin'!
  • Continued our series called Verdict by talking about what people who saw Jesus said about him. We looked at a couple of examples from the Bible, but we also unpacked a few references from writers like Josephus and Tacitus and Pliny the Younger, all of whom were alive when Jesus was. Last week we talked about the overwhelming amount of evidence that proves the Bible is historically accurate, and this external testimony is a great supplement to that.
  • Easter is this coming weekend, and we'll be wrapping up Verdict with the final piece of the puzzle: evidence for Jesus' resurrection. So far we've established that the Bible is historically accurate, and that Jesus really existed, but we haven't talked much about evidence to support the claim that Jesus died and then came back to life. We're saving the best for last, so make sure you check out Verve on Easter weekend (and invite a friend or two to come with you!)
  • Half of our staff was out of town due to spring break, and thanks to our awesome volunteers everything went off without a hitch. It's really cool to have Ververs who are so committed to loving God, loving people, and turning the world upside-down, that they are willing to consistently sacrifice parts of their weekend to help set the stage for God to change lives.
  • From time to time we like to publicly respond to questions submitted by people who attend Verve. We call this the Verve Mailbag, and we figured spring break was as good a time as any to dive in and address some of the more pressing inquiries:
