Psalms 99, 100 and 101

Today's reading in our daily plan is Psalms 99, 100, & 101. Take a moment to pray, asking God to speak to you from this passage. Then read, using the following notes and questions to help you get everything out of the passage.

SAY WHAT? (What is the passage saying?)

  • Psalm 99 talks about how mighty God is and how he rules over everything. However, the end of it also rings of his grace he shows to us.
  • Psalm 100 is only a few short verses. It encourages everyone to worship God for he is our Creator. It goes on to say how God’s love goes on forever.
  • Psalm 101 was written by King David, who was called by God a “man after his own heart.” This psalm describes exactly how he planned to live a life that was pleasing to God. If we set out with the same goals for the way we live our life we couldn’t go wrong.

SO WHAT? (What are the underlying principles?)

    • Have you ever thought about how God’s love and grace are unending? No matter what you’ve done or what you will ever do; you will never outrun the love God has for you.
NOW WHAT? (How will you personally apply this passage?)
    • King David made a plan of how he would live a life that pleased God. Have you taken time to think through how you will live your life and see if it meets the standards you want to live by?
