Psalms 90 and 91

Today's reading in our daily plan is Psalm 90 & 91. Take a moment to pray, asking God to speak to you from this passage. Then read, using the following notes and questions to help you get everything out of the passage.

SAY WHAT? (What is the passage saying?)

  • In Psalm 90 we read the words of a prayer Moses prayed to God. In this prayer, Moses talks about how God is above all things and sees everything, even our secret sins.
  • Psalm 91 talks about how God protects those who follow him.

SO WHAT? (What are the underlying principles?)

  • The Psalms have many great insights on how to pray to God. Praying is just having a conversation. One thing the prayer of Moses brings up is the idea of hidden or secret sins. We all sin but some people have things they do wrong that they think no one knows about, but we read here that God knows.

NOW WHAT? (How will you personally apply this passage?)

  • Is there anything you have kept secret that you know is wrong? Confess that to God today and ask him to help you stay away from it again. God wants you to be honest with him. He already knows anyway.
