Psalms 13, 14 and 15

Today's reading in our daily plan is Psalms 13, 14, & 15. Take a moment to pray, asking God to speak to you from this passage. Then read, using the following notes and questions to help you get everything out of the passage.

SAY WHAT? (What is the passage saying?)

  • Psalm 13 we see into the heart of David again as he cries out to his God who appears to be silent in his life once again.
  • Psalm 14 talks about how God is a refuge for those waiting for deliverance from oppressors.
  • Psalm 15 is one that we should all take note of. David was called “a man after God’s heart.” Here he shares with us what a person who follows after God should look like.

SO WHAT? (What are the underlying principles?)

  • Psalm 13 is one that we can all identify with. There are times it seems as if God is far away but notice that in the end, David says that he “trusts in [God’s] unfailing love.”

NOW WHAT? (How will you personally apply this passage?)

  • Obviously, God has proven before to David that even though he may appear distant he is working in his life. Psalm 15 should inspire us to live pure lives.
