Dream to Destiny: Overcoming Discouragement

  1. What was your best/worst surprise?
  2. Share with us the most discouraging set of circumstances you've ever had to deal with. What was your response?
  3. Has it ever occurred to you, how you handle discouraging things in your life, impacts your life?Why or why not?
  4. Genesis 39:21 in the Old Testament of the Bible says, "But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love." How does that encourage you through whatever discouragement you are experiencing, to know the Lord was with Joseph even when he was falsely accused and thrown into prison?
  5. When you face discouraging circumstances, do you tend to feel sorry for yourself or are you sensitive towards others? Why?
  6. What are your spiritual gifts? Do you use them frequently?
  7. Read 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 in the New Testament of the Bible. How can you have an outlook like this when you are in the midst of discouragement?
  8. Tell us about a time when going through discouraging times produced character in you.
