Dream to Destiny: Overcoming the Pit

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Verve Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Group, feel free to use them on your own.
This week we continued the series called Dream to Destiny and talked about Overcoming the PitIf you missed it, you can listen to it here.
  1. What is the biggest way you've changed since you were a child? In what way are you still the same?
  2. When you find yourself in a "pit," how do you initially react? Do you tend to blame yourself? Do you blame others? God? Why do you think you react this way?
  3. This week in the message we saw Joseph thrown into a pit by his brothers and then thrown into slavery. What can you learn from Joseph's attitude through all of it?
  4. In Romans 8:28 of the New Testament of the Bible, it says, "We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose."
    • How does this verse encourage you?
    • Have you seen God turned a bad situation into something good? Did you give God credit?
    • What in your life feels bad right now? Is there any way you could see God making it good? What would it look like for you to be faithful to Him in this bad situation?
  5. What pit do you need to overcome in your life today?
  6. Weekly Check In Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
