I Want a Movie Life: Ralph Breaks the Internet

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Verve Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Group, feel free to use them on your own.
This week we continued the series called I Want a Movie Life and talked about Ralph Breaks the InternetIf you missed it, you can listen to it here.
  1. What would be a good title of your autobiography?
  2. When have you wanted to change your life and why did you want it to be different?
  3. Have you ever felt like you needed to be good to get God's favor? How so?
  4. In the message this week, we learned behavior modification doesn't work. What behaviors have you tried to change only to find out the change was only temporary changes and didn't last?
  5. What truly changes us is identity modification - understanding that when we gave our lives to God, it gave us a new identity. We live out what we think we are.
  6. Read 2 Corinthians 5:17.
    • What do you think it means that the "old is gone"? Have you experienced this? How?
    • What do you think it means that the "new has come"? Have you experienced this? How?
  7. Read Galatians 2:20
    • When you put your faith in Jesus, it was a decision to crucify your old life. Did you think of it that way? Why or why not?
    • Becoming a Christian means that "Christ now lives in me." Jesus moves into us to live His life through us. If that is true (and it is), how should it change your life every day?
  8. When you think about this new life God has for you and wants you to live, do you fear that it might be boring? Why or why not?
  9. Jesus said, in John 10:10, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
  10. What leads you to doubt that the life God wants you to live is bigger and better?
  11. What could you do this week that would help you to more fully embrace the new identity and new life God has for you?
  12. Weekly Check In Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
