Chain Breaker: When I've Been Hurt Too Badly

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Verve Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Group, feel free to use them on your own.
This week we started the series called Chain Breaker and talked about "When I've Been Hurt Too Badly". If you missed it, you can listen to it here.
  1. Tell us about your most memorable holiday.
  2. Is it easier to receive or give forgiveness? Why?
  3. Do you have someone in your life you have yet to forgive? If so, who is it and what's preventing you from forgiving them?
  4. When have you experienced the power of forgiving someone? Tell us about it.
  5. Do you tend to keep people at a distance so they can't hurt you? Why or why not?
  6. How does that make you feel to know you've racked up a debt with God (because of your sin) that you can never repay?
  7. Read Hebrews 4:13 in the New Testament of the Bible. If nothing is hidden from God, why do we think we can cover things up and act like they don't exist?
  8. Read Matthew 18:26 in the New Testament. How would you react to someone forgiving all of your debt?
  9. Weekly Check In Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
