Making Lemonade: Poor in Spirit

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Verve Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Group, feel free to use them on your own.
This week we continued the series called Making Lemonade and talked about "Poor in Spirit". If you missed it, you can listen to it here.
  1. What invention do you think will be popular in 20 years?
  2. Read John 10:10 in the New Testament of the Bible. What does it mean to you to have life to the full? Why?
  3. Do you believe you can have happiness regardless of your circumstances? Why or why not?
  4. Have you ever felt like God owes you something? Why or why not?
  5. Why do you think it's so hard to admit we need help?
  6. Read Jeremiah 18:6 in the Old Testament of the Bible. Does it provide any comfort to you to think of yourself as clay in the Potter's (God's) hands? Why or why not?
  7. Have you seen a benefit of not asking for help when you need it? Why or why not?
  8. Have you ever gone to God in prayer asking for help? Why or why not?
  9. Weekly Check In Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
