Better Friendships

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Micro Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Micro Group, feel free to use them on your own.

This week we started a new series called Better  and talked about "Better Friendships". If you missed it, you can listen to it here.

  1. Who was your best friend growing up? Why did that person become such a good friend?
  2. The Bible says in Proverbs 12:22-24, "Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare."
  3. Who are the Top 5 people you spend the most time with?
  4. Is there someone in your Top 5 who brings you down? Who could you start spending less time with so your life could become better?
  5. Proverbs 12:30, "Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm."
  6. Who could you start spending a little more time with so your life could become better?
  7. 1 Corinthians 15:33, "Do not be misled: 'Bad company corrupts good character.'"
  8. Media is all around us. The music we listen to and TV we watch are things you are sponging. What do you find yourself listening to? Have you noticed it affecting your mind? What could you "sponge" a little less time with every day?
  9. Reading God's Word even for 10 minutes a day can have a dramatic impact in your life. Absorbing God's Word is the best sponging we can do! If you're not sure where to start, subscribe to vervecatalyst.org and start doing the Verve Bible reading plan.
    • Where could you create 10 minutes a day to spend reading the Bible?
  10. If you had a group of believers to talk to and confide in, would that make your life better?
    • Verve Groups start again in September. Sign-ups happens all through August. Get into a Verve Group!
  11. If you're already in a Verve Group:
    • How has your group made your life better?
    • What would help you to open up more with the people in your group?
    • How could you spend a little more time with the people in your group?
    • Have you considered starting your own Verve Group, so more people can experience better friendships?
  12. Weekly Prayer Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is this there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
