Questions: The Bucket List

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Micro Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Micro Group, feel free to use them on your own.

This week we concluded our series called Back To The Future and talked about "The Bucket List" If you missed it, you can listen to it here.
  1. Chess world champion Gary Kasparov wrote, "A grandmaster makes the best moves because they are based on what he wants the board to look like ten or twenty moves in the future."
    • How much time have you spent thinking about what you want your life to look like in ten or twenty years?
    • What conclusions have you come to about what you want for your future?
  2. The Bible says, in Proverbs 29:18, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." How do you think your life might be suffering from a lack of vision for your future?
  3. In creating a bucket list, Vince suggested starting with prayer and checking your motives. Why do you think that's the right place to start when creating a list of your life goals?
  4. What might be a goal you'd like to establish in the following categories:
    • Family
    • Travel
    • Physical
    • Travel
    • Influence
    • Spiritual
  5. As you move forward in creating a bucket list, make your goals as specific as possible. People say the more specific, the more likely you'll be to achieve them and the more God will be glorified. Why do you think that's true?
  6. The Bible says, in 2 Corinthians 5:9, "We make it our goal to please Him." Do you feel like these goals, and living a life that accomplished them, would be pleasing to God?
  7. Accountability Question:  How have you been inviting God into all your decisions?
  8. Prayer Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is this there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
