Questions: God For The Atheists

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Micro Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Micro Group, feel free to use them on your own.

This week we continued a new series God For The Rest Of Us and talked about "God For The Atheists" If you missed it, you can listen to it here.

  1. Have you ever met a Christian hypocrite?  If yes, how was this person hypocritical?
  2. Read Matthew 7:15-23
  3. Why do you think Jesus warned us of false prophets?
  4. How do you think we should we respond to those who misrepresent Jesus?
  5. Because some people have misrepresented Jesus, we need to make it a priority to accurately represent Him. What do you think are some things we must do to accurately represent Him?
  6. Do you know anyone who thinks negatively about Christians, or the church, or God?
  7. Titus 2:10-11 tells us that "the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people" - so God wants everyone to say yes to His offer of relationship. And that we who believe need to "in every way" "make the teaching about God our Savior attractive." So it's our responsibility to help people see who God really is, and help people to feel drawn to Jesus through our example.
  8. What can you do to build a relationship with the person you know who is cynical, and seek to actively earn back their trust (in Christians, the church, and God)?
  9. Accountability Question:  How have I passionately pursued opportunities to ambush a few people with God’s love?
  10. Prayer Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is this there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
