Verve Haps

This past weekend at Verve was epic, and not just because UNLV won:
  • We continued our I Want A Movie Life series by talking about Edge of Tomorrow. It's a Tom Cruise flick that can teach us a lot about how to move our life from where it is now from where we want it to be.
  • Most everyone has an area of their life they are discontent with. Unfortunately, we tend to think the way to fix these areas is just to want them to be better. If we just want hard enough, we believe something will change.
  • But just wanting to change isn't enough. We have to actually do something about it. The secret to moving from where we are to where we want to be is training, not trying. We have to develop a habit of getting progressively better, of training day after day.
  • This is especially true in our relationship with God. No matter how much we might want to have a deep relationship with him, we must practice daily habits (like reading the Bible and praying) that will keep us close to God and help us to love him more.
  • We announced that we are doing another Movie Night next Friday, October 24! We're showing The Lego Movie on the big screen, and we'll have a ton of fun activities beforehand. Doors open at 5:30 and the movie starts at 6:30. Plan now to get in on this great opportunity to have fun and get to know other Ververs!
