Questions: Edge Of Tomorrow

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Micro Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Micro Group, feel free to use them on your own.

This week we continued our series called I Want A Movie Life and talked about Edge of Tomorrow If you missed it, you can listen to it here.
  1. Insanity has been defined as doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.  What specific areas of your life demonstrate a little insanity?
  2. Read 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
  3. In verse 24, Paul compares the Christian life to a race.  He tells us to run in such a way that we’ll win the prize.  Is it reasonable to expect people, who are out of shape, to win first place in a race?  Why or why not?  What is needed in order to run at that kind of level?
  4. In his sermon, Vince said that the secret to getting us from here to there is the principle of training (as opposed to trying).  In your own words, how would you define training?
  5. In what area or two of your life do you feel stuck? In that area (or two) where are you currently?  And where do you want to go?
  6. What kind of "training" might take you (in that area of your life) from where you are to where you want to go?  Or, put in another way, what are some of the specific things you can repeatedly do that will help you move in the right direction?
  7. God is ready to partner with us in order to help us experience a breakthrough in life.  He’s the best coach and trainer we could ever have.  How can you invite God to help coach and train you this week?
  8. Who are 1-2 people that can encourage you and help hold you accountable as you make your first steps to break out of your rut?
  9. How have you spent time with God this week?
  10. How can we specifically pray for you this week?
