Verve Haps

Exciting times at Verve this past weekend!

  • There are several churches across the country who help support Verve in many ways. A handful of them send groups of people to Las Vegas for the sole purpose of helping Verve. This past weekend we had two teams in town: one from Indiana and one from Georgia. We are humbled by the fact that 20+ people from these churches took time out of their busy lives to come and help us love God, love people, and turn the world upside-down.
  • Our band went old-school and opened each service with "Renegade" by Styx. No bell-bottoms were harmed during this performance.
  • We continued our Renegade series by looking at the life of a guy from history named William Wilberforce. Wilberforce taught us (by example) that leading people to find life in God is not that job of a pastor, or of "super spiritual" people. If you've decided to follow Jesus, you can help lead people to him in ways that aren't weird or intimidating. (For specific examples of how this can play out in your life, listen to the message from this past weekend.)
  • A great way to increase your impact as a Renegade is by volunteering at Verve. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to start serving, so after each service we set up tables with representatives from each of our volunteer teams. A ton of people signed up for a First Serve, which gives you the chance to test drive a volunteer role before you commit. If you want in on First Serve action, you can sign up for one online
