Verve Haps

Wow! Lots of big things happened at Verve this past Sunday and Monday:

  • Seven people were baptized! Baptisms are one of the most exciting things we do at Verve because they represent why we do what we do. Verve exists as a church to help people who are far from God find life in him, and baptism is the first "official" step a person takes once they've given their life to God. We can't wait to see these seven people continue to take steps to love God, love people, and turn the world upside-down.
  • Speaking of turning the world upside-down... we announced that we're taking three international mission trips in 2014: one to Poland, one to Ecuador, and one to Mexico. Each trip will be unique in its destination and style -- the Poland trip will help a new church in an urban area, while the Ecuador and Mexico trips will be more focused on rural villages. More details are coming soon, but if you're interested in any of these trips, let us know ASAP.
  • We have special ties to our Ecuadorian destination: this past year our first international mission trip was a trip to Ecuador, and for a couple of years before that we had been encouraging Ververs to sponsor Ecuadorian children through an awesome organization called Compassion International. In all of our services we encouraged Ververs to commit to sponsor a child, and the response was overwhelming! A TON of people signed up to send $38 per month to provide education, housing, and basic needs for a child in Rocafuerte, Ecuador. Way to go, Ververs!
