Questions: Broken

We provide questions each week based on the theme of our service for our Micro Groups to use. If you're not in a Verve Micro Group, feel free to use them on your own.

This week we were in our Christmas series and talked about Broken. If you missed it, you can listen to it here.
  1. What is one of your best Christmas memories? What is one of the most difficult?
  2. In the message, Vince talked about how Jesus came into a painful world and lived a painful life, so he understands what we're going through when life is hard. How does knowing that help you?
  3. Read Psalms 34:17-22
  4. That passages says that God hears us when we cry out to Him. What makes that difficult for you to believe?
  5. Have you ever experienced feeling like God heard your desperate prayers?
  6. This passage also says that God is close to and rescues those who are brokenhearted and troubled. What is an example of God doing this?
  7. What has been one of the most difficult things you've had to go through this year?
  8. When you went through that difficult time, were you already (before it started happening) feeling close to God? Why or why not?
  9. When you went through the difficult time, did you turn to God and seek his help and peace? Why or why not?
  10. If you built habits into your life now that keep you close to God on a day-by-day basis, how do you think it would help you the next time a storm hits?
  11. Accountability Question:  How have you passionately pursued meaningful time with God this week?
  12. Prayer Question:  What could we be praying for you this week? (Is this there something good we could celebrate with you, or a challenge you need God's help with?)
