Verve Haps

Cool stuff going on at Verve:

  • This past weekend we started a new series called The River: Flowing with God's Will for Your Life. A lot of people feel confused about what God wants them to do in any given situation they're facing, and in this series we're going to talk about how we can get a better idea of God's plan for each of our lives.
  • The main point we emphasized is that God is much more concerned about who we are than what we do. Instead of worrying about what we should or shouldn't do, we need to focus on growing closer to God. The more grounded we become in him, and the more we build our identity around him, the more naturally our decisions will flow with his will.
  • For the last few weeks we have been collecting Halloween candy for an event that will be hosted at Dean Petersen Elementary. Dean Petersen is located in an area of Las Vegas that is too dangerous for trick-or-treating, so each year the school throws a Halloween celebration for students and their families. We are providing candy and manpower for this event, and it's one of the highlights of our year at Verve because it's such a cool way to ambush the community with God's love. If you haven't yet brought candy to Verve, this coming Sunday is your last chance to do that! If you're interested in volunteering at the event on October 29th, shoot us an email
