Verve Haps

This past weekend at Verve was a great one!

  • We kicked off a new series called 24/6. It's all about how you can build time into your weekly schedule to relax and recharge, and how doing so can not only help your productivity but also help you grow closer to God. This kind of message is great for today's society and perfect for Las Vegas' fast-paced 24-hour culture.
  • There are a ton of compelling reasons why it's a great idea to build in a weekly day of downtime. One of them is a matter of practicality -- the more rested you are, the more mentally sharp you tend to be. If you've ever been working on a crossword puzzle, for example, you may have gotten stuck on a word (or two or three or four) and put the crossword puzzle down, only to have an "aha!" moment a few hours later after you took a break from the puzzle. Resting doesn't make you smarter, but it does make you sharper, and this is true for all areas of your life: at work, at home, and in your relationship with God.
  • The last few weeks have been awesome because we've had a TON of First Serves! First Serves are a great way to get connected to Verve by volunteering; a First Serve gives you the chance to test drive a volunteer position with no strings attached. If you do a First Serve and decide that you love a certain role, you can become part of that particular volunteer team. If you do a First Serve and decide that a certain role isn't for you, you can try a different First Serve in different areas until you find the perfect fit for you. If you're looking to get more connected to our church, you can sign up for a First Serve online right now!
