Verve Haps

This past weekend at Verve was unique in all kinds of great ways!

  • For the first time in Verve's history we had a guest speaker. Joe Boyd, who used to be a pastor in Vegas and is now a moviemaker, gave a talk that is perfect for anyone on the spiritual spectrum. Among other things, Joe discussed his own ongoing doubts about God (and God's existence), talked about how he often he has felt left out by other people, how unsure he was of God's plan for his life, and how faith plays a central role in all of it. (It also involved a story about a lawn chair being bungie-corded to the inside of a car in place of passenger seats.) If you missed Verve this past weekend, make sure you listen to the message online or watch the entire service.
  • You may have previously seen our special video interviews called Between Two Verve Buckets. We pay a top-notch interview crew a lot of money to produce these high-quality interviews, and this weekend we flew the entire crew into town to, for the first (and maybe last) time in Verve history, do a Between Two Verve Buckets live on stage by interviewing Joe Boyd. If you weren't there, you missed a (hilarious) Verve milestone.
  • Our band opened the service by performing a cover of "I Will Wait" by Mumford and Sons. Any week you can start with some Mumford is a good week.
  • Hope you have a great 4th of July! We'll see you this coming weekend as we start a brand new series called 24/6
